My teaching philosophy:
To encourage each child to grow in knowledge of themselves, their language, their world, and to enable them to hear the message of God's saving grace in his Word.
Why I decided to become a teacher:
As a child, I spent many hours playing “school” in my basement. We had an “old” school desk that started this activity. I would use outdated school books and papers to teach, and my friends and siblings would spend hours imitating a school setting. I was encouraged by this to pursue teaching as my future plans. God had blessed me with parents who gave me opportunity to hear God's Word at church, home, and at school. Therefore I was encouraged to take the path of becoming a Lutheran teacher.
I attended and graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College (currently called Martin Luther College) in New Ulm, MN and Minnesota State University, Mankato, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.
I have substitute and long-term taught in area public school districts. In 2008, I received a call to teach at Grace Lutheran Preschool. I updated with courses in directing and administrating childcare programs to also serve as the director and administrator for our state licensed preschool.
I grew up in Fond du Lac, WI and attended Redeemer Lutheran School and Winnebago Lutheran Academy.
I am married to my husband Todd and we have two children. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, walking, and taking “family” trips in Wisconsin and other states.
Favorite Bible Verse: Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This is one of my favorite passages and through His Word I am assured of my future plans and hope of heaven through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and resurrection!
Something special about teaching at Grace Lutheran Preschool: Each day of school I am privilege to teach about the one triune God who made us and the world, and who simply loved us and sent a Savior! Jesus came to save us from sin, death and the devil. He speaks to us through his Word!
